How to install WordPress

WordPress is an open-source content management system (CMS) that is available to install using the cPanel Softaculous Apps Installer for free. In this guide, you can learn how to install WordPress using Softaculous.

We will install WordPress manually and using softaculous.

How to install WordPress using Softaculous

1)Log into your cPanel.
2)Go to Software section, then click on the Softaculous icon.
3)Click on the WordPress logo. This will open a screen with several options displayed. You will see a screen with Install, Overview, Features, and Import. Click on the Install link.
4)Fill in the WordPress installation details. The following is the necessary information you need to fill in:
5)Select the Domain you want to install your WordPress on from the drop-down menu.
6)Leave this blank to install on the domain directly. If you are installing in a subfolder of your site you type the folder name here. This will make the blog load like the following: example.com/foldername.
7) Enter a username for your WordPress Dashboard login.
8)Enter whatever password you want for the Dashboard Login.
9)Enter a valid email here. The system will place an invalid email here. you will need a valid one and click Install.
10)Softaculous will check the submitted data and install the files to your server for WordPress. 
11)Now visit your domain, such domain.com/wp-admin
Note! If you do not see your website load after installing your WordPress site, you may need to point the nameservers, wait for propagation, or another DNS or Domain related issue.

 

 

Install it manually:

If your hosting provider doesn’t have any automatic installer, follow the steps below to install it

1)Navigate to https://en-gb.wordpress.org/download
2)Press Download .tar.gz
3)After downloading the files, login to your cPanel.
4)Navigate to File Manager
5)Go to your domain’s path such public_html
6)Click upload and upload the wordpress zip.
7)After uploading the file, right click on it and hit unzip.
8)Go to PHPMYADMIN, create a database and database user, you will need them later (don’t forget to add the database user to the database with all its privileges).
9)Now visit your website such exampledomain.com
10)You will be prompted with the manual WordPress installation.
11)Put the Database name, user, password and database (if you host your database in the same server you host your files it should be localhost), table prefix is wp_ and press submit.
12)Last steps are the same as on the step 7 on the softaculous installation guide.
